A Galeon 800 Fly is shown heading out to sea from Newport, Rhode Island, the long granite ramparts of Fort Adams filling the background. The yacht throws a confident wake across choppy blue water as she clears Narragansett Bay — a modern vessel framed against one of America's oldest coastal fortifications.
The 800 Fly is built by Galeon Yachts, a Polish builder whose designs are characterised by generous interior volume, high freeboard and distinctive angular styling. At 80 feet she sits at the upper end of the flybridge cruiser market, with a beach club, foredeck lounge and full-beam owner's cabin.
Fort Adams, visible behind the yacht, is a bastioned fortification completed in 1857 to guard the entrance to Newport Harbour. Its low, sprawling profile makes a natural counterpoint to the yacht's sharp, vertical lines. The painting was exhibited at the Southampton International Boat Show in 2024. It's signed in the lower left and dated in the lower right corner.
