Britain's last battleship is shown here in a blustery Solent for the 1953 Coronation Fleet Review. On the left side of the picture is the royal procession with HMS Surprise carrying The Queen, and a number of vessels are visible beyond including the Italian sail training ship Amerigo Vespucci. The aircraft carrier beyond Vanguard is HMS Eagle.

This painting is signed in the lower left corner and dated in the lower right.
