Asturias was a Royal Mail Steam Packet that was converted to a hospital ship during WW1, carrying many sick and wounded back to England including J.R.R. Tolkien. The ship is seen departing the Solent as evening closes in, with a variety of seabirds amongst the rocky foreground.
